DART un nouveau langage pour le Web

Google vient d’enregistrer plusieurs noms de domaine liés à Dart, ce qui a créé toutes sortes de spéculations. Il est maintenant avéré que Dart est un nouveau langage de programmation pour la « programmation web structuré. »

Le 10 Octobre, au cours du discours d’ouverture de la conférence GOTO à Aarhus, au Danemark, deux développeurs de Google vont dévoiler le nouveau langage.
Les ingénieurs en logiciel qui vont présenter ce nouveau langage ont un cursus très intéressant. Gilad Bracha est le concepteur de Newspeak, un langage orientée objet dans la tradition de Smalltalk et Self. Gilad Bracha, un vétéran de SAP, Sun, est le co-auteur de Java. Lars Bak est responsable de la V8, c’est le créateur de Chrome JavaScript V8.

Google a déjà publié un language dans l’histoire récente – GO – on peut donc supposer que le DART ne sera pas un C-like.
Avec la « programmation web structuré », il est possible qu’il soit une sorte d’ interprété dans le navigateur, donc plus comme JavaScript ou Python, et moins comme Java ou d’autres langages compilés. Un des plus grands indices, cependant, est que les deux Bracha et Bak ont beaucoup travaillé avec Smalltalk dans le passé – et un langage interprété Smalltalkesque cadrerait avec la « programmation web structuré ».

Le problème avec un langage de programmation orienté Web, est qu’il existe déjà une tonne de langages viables. Dart, si c’est une interprétation de Smalltalk, serait en concurrence presque directement avec JavaScript et Python.
