OPhone 2.0 a son propre SDK et des bibliothèques de développement d’applications, avec plus de 50.000 développeurs enregistrés depuis sa première version il ya huit mois avec oPhone 1.0.
China Mobile a utilisé oPhone dans sa première version en Septembre 2009. Maintenant, plus de 20 fabricants développeront des terminaux avec ce nouveau système d’exploitation, tels que HTC, LG, Lenovo et Samsung et 20 modèles seront en vente au cours de l’année 2010.
Peut-être cette démarche par China Mobile a quelque chose à voir avec les relations du gouvernement chinois et Google, ils ont décidé de se séparer d’ Android comme OS de base pour créer leur propre système d’exploitation pour les téléphones mobiles.
