Les flux RSS sont un outil largement utilisé pour se tenir au courant de l’évolution des blogs et des sites web qui nous intéressent. Toutefois, encore aujourd’hui, il existe de nombreux sites qui n’ont pas de flux auxquels s’ abonner.
Quelques outils permettent de surmonter cette difficulté, comme FeedYes. Ces outils suivent régulièrement les changements dans le site, et créent un flux RSS .
Google a franchi une étape supplémentaire en intégrant cette fonction directement dans Google Reader. À partir de maintenant nous pouvons entrer une URL dans le champ « Ajouter un abonnement », comptez sur un flux RSS ou pas. Google fait le reste du travail pour nous, et affiche les mises à jour chaque fois que le site propose de nouvelles infos.
Si un webmaster ne veut pas que Google génére des flux RSS de son site, il est possible de désactiver cette option.
