La Société française Musinaut a lancé hier officiellement un nouveau format audio le MXP4.
La technologie MXP4 offre une musique, à la fois, enregistrée et malgré tout, imprévisible. Le MXP4 donne vie à l’enregistrement musical et génère interactivité et imprédictibilité, suivant leurs auteurs.
Grâce à MXP4 Creator, (logiciel en licence essai à télécharger jusqu’au 31 octobre, après, il sera payant 349 euros,), plusieurs versions d’une même chanson, coexistent sur le même fichier. Intégrant la notion de skins : c’est-à-dire des interprétations, réalisées par l’artiste ou la communauté de l’artiste et sous sa direction, comprenant de multiples variations et dont l’ensemble des combinaisons possibles offre une écoute toujours nouvelle, illimitée. C’est à l’auditeur de choisir quelle version il souhaite écouter ou mieux de laisser le lecteur choisir pour lui et ainsi de découvrir d’autres facettes de la même chanson. L’auditeur peut passer d’une version à une autre sans aucune coupure, simplement en pressant un bouton sur l’interface du lecteur sur son écran.
Les fondateurs de la société Musinaut, Philippe Ulrich, Sylvain Huet et Gilles Babinet, à la base venant du monde du jeu vidéo et plus particulièrement de chez Cryo, espèrent avec ce nouveau format redonner du souffle à l’industrie musicale.
Pour l’instant ce format n’est pas disponible pour les iPods mais les créateurs ont affirmé qu’il sera disponible sur PDA et téléphone mobile.
Le site ne donne aucune information technique sur ce format. On peut lire que le créateur peut choisir le format Ogg Vorbis ou Wav pour sauver son fichier mxp4. Plus l’artiste permet d’interactivité avec sa musique, plus le fichier sera important en espace mémoire (jusqu’à 100 Mo). Le site propose une écoute test sur un player en Flash, et Flash ne sait toujours pas lire le format Ogg. Le logiciel Creator est en anglais, la version d’essai ne permet pas de sauver un fichier mxp4, son utilisation est assez brumeuse.
Mxp4 n’est donc pas un nouveau format audio mais une nouvelle façon d’écouter un titre, un encapsulage de plusieurs variations d’un même morceau musical.
Pour écouter un exemple c’est ici . En choisissant le mode manuel on peut changer de skin tout en écoutant le titre. Le changement n’est pas immédiat et demande quelques dizaines de secondes.
